The Hong Kong Ice Theatre was found in year 2001 by Ted Wilson, Linda Dean, Jon Robison and Tommy Wu.
Welcome Notes
The Hong Kong Ice Theatre was an inevitable in the evolution of skating in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. The performers are drawn from a wide variety of enthusiastic skaters from almost all of Hong Kong’s 5 ice rinks. They hold a variety of jobs from computer saleman to skating coach but they all share one thing in common and that is the love for the sport.
The Hong Kong Ice Theatre has struggled over the years to keep the group on the ice and doing what they love. Choreographers from the world of dance in additional to skating have helped to create programs that have been performed at almost every rink in Hong Kong.
While their standard of performance is still in its infancy, one can sense the desire to move upward and the determination to make skating an art as well as a sport. For those of you lucky enough see them in performance, be sure to say hello and give them a word of encouragement.
